Agrícola Amata is located in the tropical highlands of Costa Rica, a peaceful country located in Central America.
The democratic system of the country, where the army was abolished many decades before, has allowed the development of a solid economic growth, good school system, no child work, and the establishment of human rights earlier than elsewhere in the region.
Costa Rica’s stable climate throughout the year and its diverse climatic regions are ideal for diverse agricultural and ornamental products. Its rich soils and abundant water also help to explain why Costa Rica is mainly an agricultural country. This conditions are a strategically-perfect environment where Agrícola Amata could initiate its operations, develop with delight and grow as a solid company.
Who
we are
Many yeas ago, a Swiss family which was mostly active in coffee production and exportation since 1948, had the vision of what could be a prosperous business. So, in the summer of 1989 they founded the company Agrícola Amata S.A. established for producing Davalia and Treefern and its exportation mainly to Switzerland and
Germany. Existing knowledge, capital and future vision were the weapons for constructing a very solid basis of a new
company
After a gradual expansion through the last decade and changes in its structure, the company made strategic business-allies with important growers,
making a national wide net for the commercialization of a large variety of tropical flowers and foliages. Now this company has vast experience by exporting flowers, cut foliage and plants. Its many years of operation have led to a large and solid contact with suppliers, shippers and consumers. Now Agrícola Amata S.A. is exporting products to almost every country in Europe: United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, and many others.
Agrícola Amata has its operation center in the highlands of the country, in the city of Alajuela. Its strategic location: five minutes from the International Airport, allows quick response and coordination with the freight forwarders. The supplying plantations are near to our packing installations in Alajuela, permitting best quality for fresh cut products, with competitive prices for all flowers and greens!
Our goal
And we are not biased only towards the traditional products: continuously we are seeking for new exciting plants that might interest the
consumers. We also offer flexibility in packaging and shipping, permitting different composition of products, size of boxes, and a mix in single containers. Large and constant orders are rewarded with attractive prices!
